Should You Drink Tea After Eating Fruits?

    Dear Friends,

Which Fruits and Teas should you pair?

Several fruits are acidic. You don't want excess acidity in your system. Therefore, do not pair acidic fruits with acidic teas. Other than this rule of thumb, any other combination works well.

    • Acidic fruits (strawberries, oranges, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, mangosteen, etc.) are best paired with a delicate white tea or a smooth green tea
    • Non-acidic fruits (bananas, mangoes, apples, pineapples, peaches, plum, apricots, etc.) are best paired with a robust chai tea or a subtly fruity black tea
    • All fruits pair well with iced teas (especially cold brewed iced teas, which have low acidity)

Note: The teas given below pair well with most fruits, based on the conventions mentioned above.

      Hi ,
I don’t think eating fruits while drinking tea is healthy simply because it might hinder proper digestion in the body.

      Hi Aditya,

I do not agree with you. I drink tea after eating fruits all the time without worrying about pairing. It works differently for different people.

Thank you for your advice. I paired an orange with The Queen of Greens (during a midday snack on a cold winter day). The two complimented each other to the “tea”!

Helpful blog post. I recently paired some strawberries with your white tea, The Silver Moonlight, and the pairing worked well :)
